Johor Saleng Eco Village

This hired course site is surrounded by tropical gardens, a vegetable farm and green fields. It is

10) Daen Maha Mongkol Meditation Centre in Thailand

Women may stay within the main compound; there are rooms for men outside. Because

of the strict adherence to calmn, you cannot phone or email the centre to make a booking.

However, unless you turn up on a public holiday, free rooms will be available (donations

are welcomed). Day visitors can drop in from 8am to 11am and 1pm to 5pm – everyone

here wears white and appropriate clothes can be hired to the left of the entrance. The

impressive stupa at the top of the nearby hill can be climbed in 30 minutes, but is only

open at weekends and on holy days. The centre is off Hwy 323, 12 km from the Tiger

Temple, and is well signposted. By train, get off at Maha Mongkol station.

12) Pa-Auk Forest Monastery in Myanmar

Pa-Auk Forest Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in the Theravāda tradition, with

emphasis on the teaching and practice of both Samatha and Vipassana meditation.

Situated in a forest along the Taung Nyo Mountain range in Mon State, Myanmar, the

monastery provides a conducive setting for the practice of long-term,

intensive meditation. Presently, there are over 100 foreign meditators, originating from

over 20 countries, residing in the monastery.

Anyone can come and reside in Pa Auk Monastery, and meditate as long as he wants!

Teaching:

「嘉義新雨道場」在眾多的大德與善友的支持與祝福,很快地在嘉義縣中埔鄉找到約七分地(兩千坪)的園林(舊

底:彌陀園),並於2002年(民國91年)6月30日遷入,並改名為「法雨道場」,新開始組織運作,於9月完成寺廟

登記。

「新雨」最初在美國1987年(民國76年)2月成立,翌年由張慈田居士(明法比丘Thitadhammo,Bhikkhu

Metta)回台弘揚,「新雨」曾組織過台灣各地方學員,曾出版「新雨月刊」(1987.2~1994.1)。在嘉義成立

「嘉義新雨道場」,出刊「嘉義新雨雜誌」(1994.2.~2003.4.);目前出刊「法雨雜誌」(2003.12~ )。一路走

過來,參與了台灣原始佛教的建構,留下一些法的痕跡。

道場以呼吸法當做禪觀的要領,也介紹其他的禪法,日常生活的互動(法的分享與回饋)、生活、作務,也佔重

要的份量。秉持深度的思惟、實踐、反省法義。道場將繼續出版以巴利三藏為根據的佛教書籍,作為修學參考。
