5 days in Bali
Day 1 (night) (26th Apr 2014)
Arrived in Bali. Went to the airport counter to purchase taxi coupon. Taxi charge could be much more expensive if we simply took a taxi outside the airport. Stayed at Tune Hotel at Kuta City center which is about 10 minutes’ driving distance from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
We paid about IDR70,000 for the taxi to reach the hotel. Tune Hotel at Kuta Bali is just 10 minutes’ walk from Kuta Beach and Kuta shopping area. To avoid confusion, we told the
taxi drive the address of the hotel - Jalan Kahyangan Suci (Off Jalan Pantai Kuta), Kuta.
The room of the hotel is pretty small but the location is strategic.
On the way to Kuta Beach

Day 2 (27th Apr)
Our next venue is Tanah Lot. We took a taxi (by paying about IDR200,000). It took us about 45 minutes from Kuta City center to Tanah Lot. We stayed at Coco Hotel at
Tanah Lot. The hotel is located at the tourism area of the Tanah Lot and just 5 minutes’ walking distance from Tanah Lot temple, best known as Pura Tanah Lot. Entrance fee to Tanah Lot is IDR30,000. We visited Tanah Lot temple at different times, shopped around and enjoyed tasty local cuisine at Tanah Lot.
It was pretty enjoyable to swim at Coco Hotel.
Shopping around Tanah Lot.
Tanah Lot temple. It was surrounded by sea water during high tide in the
following morning.
Sunset at Tanah Lot. Could see daring surfers playing with the waves in Indian Ocean.
Food at Tanah Lot is yummy. The avocado drink is irresistible.
Day 3 (28th Apr)
Took a taxi (paying Rp240,000) to Ubud. It took about 80 minutes from Tanah lot to
Ubud. We Checked in a hotel nearby the market in Ubud. The following guest houses
were under our consideration.
Bayu Guest House at Jalan Bisma/Jalan Monkey Forest (RM150 per room)
Gusti Garden Bungalow at Jalan Kajeng (RM100 per room). Jalan Kajeng is a small lane which has shops selling clothes, souvenirs and restaurants at both sides. The place is not as noisy and commercialized as Jalan Bisma.
Honeymoon Guest house at Jalan Bisma (New and quiet room at second floor of Honeymoon 2 is recommended) (RM200 per room)
Walked around the area. There are market, palace, museum and Pura Saraswati (Lotus temple) at Jalan Raya.
Guest houses sign board at the entrance of Jalan Kajeng / Kajeng Road
Pura Saraswati (Lotus temple)
Could see different types of tours at the street of Ubud. We took the tour from our
guest house (so that the driver could send us back to our guest house after the trip. :>).
Day 4 (29th Apr)
Took a tour from our guest house to visit Tegallalang Rice Terraces, coffee plantation, Monkey forest, Bedugul etc. At night, we watched Kacak show at Ubud town.
